Knowing JAMB subjects for Agric-Economics and Extension is not enough. You should aim for a score of 180 – 200 and above in JAMB UTME to be on a safe side (Just a piece of advice) because anything short of that may deny you of Admission/Post UTME. Depending on your mode of entry, Agric-Economics and Extension is a three to four years course in Nigeria. According to JAMB, this course is under Faculty of Agriculture but may be under a different faculty in some universities.

Can a commercial or art student study Agric-Economics and Extension

No! Agric-Economics and Extension is a science course and not suitable for commercial or art student. But if you have required subject combination in your O level result, you can go for it if that is the course you desire to study. If you’re still in secondary school, you may find it difficult to change subjects during WAEC registration because your schools may go against it. The alternative way to write the required subjects combination for Agric-Economics and Extension is through GCE.

(i) Abia State University, Uturu accepts OND/HND at credit level.
(ii) University of Calabar (UNICAL) – accepts (a) two ‘A’ level passes in any of Chemistry, Biology / Botany/Zoology/Agricultural Science/ Geography /Geology /Economics and Mathematics. (b) HND, OND/NCE at merit level but does not accept IJMB and accepts at least a pass i Physic
(iii) Ekiti State University and Bauchi State University, Gadau accept pass in Physics
(iv) University of Uyo accepts OND (upper credit) HND (lower credit), NCE with merit pass in relevant fields plus UTME requirements. (v) University of Agriculture, Makurdi – As in Agric Economics
(vi) Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola (MAUTY) accepts any of the following (a) (`A’ Level credit passes in Maths, English, Chemistry, Biology/ Agric. Science (b) HND with overall credit plus credit pass in Mathematics, English, Chemistry & Biology/ Agric. Science
(vii) Federal University of Technology, Akure accepts (a) OND or equivalent professional qualifications at Upper Credit level or ‘A’ level passes at least two of the following subjects, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. Holders of any of these certificates from recognized institutions may be considered for admission into 200 level, provided they meet the minimum entry requirements and have passed relevant subjects at appropriate level (viii) River State University of Science and Technology (RSUST) accept ND (Upper credit) HND/NCE at credit level in relevant subject, plus UTME requirements into 200 level.
(ix) Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso (LAUTECH) accepts ND with Upper Credit/HND/NCE at Credit Level in relevant subjects, (Plus UTME requirements) may be considered for admission into 200 Level.
(x) Taraba State University, Jalingo (TSUJ) in addition to UTME requirement accepts: (a) A’ passes to include Chemistry and any of Biology, Agric. Science, Economics and may be admitted to 200 level. (b) ND (lower credit) and NCE (merit) may be admitted to 200 level. (c) HND (upper) and NCE (Distinction) may be admitted to 300 level.
(xi) Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki accepts NCE with minimum Merit passes in relevant fields or HND and OND with minimum of Upper credit in relevant fields.

What is WAEC, NECO, GCE Special Consideration (waiver) to study Agric-Economics and Extension
(i) University of Calabar (UNICAL) requires a credit pass in ‘O’ level Physics.
(ii) River State University of Science and Technology (RSUST) requires credit pass in Agricultural Science with at least a pass in Biology. It also requires credit passes in Chemistry, Economics and Mathematics.
(iii) Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Enugu (ESUT) requires at least a pass in Physics
(iv) Cross River State University of Science &Technology, Calabar (CRUTECH) and Federal University of Technology, Akure require in addition to UTME requirements at least a pass in Physics.
(v) University of Port-Harcourt (UNIPORT) and Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola (MAUTY) – Same as Fisheries.
(vi) Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso (LAUTECH) requires credit in Biology &Physics
(vii) Federal University of Technology, Akure requires at least five credits at WASSCE or NECO or GCE (O/L) or equivalent at NOT more than two sittings in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science, Economics or Geography. At least a pass in Physics is required.
(viii) Abia State University, Uturu requires five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agric. Science and one of Physics and Economics.
(ix) Federal University of Technology, Minna – Same as in Water Resources, Aquaculture and Fisheries Technology.
(x) Taraba State University, Jalingo (TSUJ) accepts Statistics in lieu of Physics.
(xi) Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Uli requires five O’ level credit passes to include English language, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry and any one of Mathematics, Physics, Geography and Economics.
(xii) Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola (MAUTY) requires credit passes in Chemistry, Biology/ Agric. Sc. and anyone from Physics/Geography/ Economics/Marketing

What is JAMB UTME Special Consideration (waiver) to study Agric-Economics and Extension
(i) Federal University of Technology, Akure requires English Language, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and either Mathematics or Economics.
(ii) Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ikeji-Arakeji requires a pass in Physics
(iii) Taraba State University, Jalingo (TSUJ) and University of Calabar (UNICAL) require English Language, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and either Mathematics or Physics. Taraba State University, Jalingo (TSUJ) also accepts Economics.
(iv) Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola (MAUTY) requires Biology/Agric. Sc. and any other two of Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Economics and Mathematics
