WAEC Subject Combination For Business Education

In WAEC, NECO or GCE, you are expected to register a maximum of 9 subjects for a Business Education degree. You can register for less than 9 subjects if you are resitting.

However, you must have at least 5 credit passes amongst the 9 subjects listed below before you can gain admission into any Nigerian university to study for a Business Education degree.

For this degree, you are also required to register for 4 subjects and English is compulsory. More so, your JAMB score in addition to your POST UTME score will determine the cumulative score that the university will use to decide your candidacy for admission.

  • Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki accepts ‘O’ level/RSA Business Stage II in 5 relevant subjects.
  • River State University of Science and Technology (RSUST) requires Bus Mgt, accounting, typewriting, Government or Commerce.
  • University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) requires credit in five subjects obtained at SSCE/ NECO/ NABTEB/ GCE ‘O’ Level which must include, English language, Mathematics and any of the following subjects: Economics, History, Commerce, Financial Accounting, Typewriting, Government, Geography, Physics and Chemistry
  • University of Benin (UNIBEN) accepts Commerce in lieu of Economics.
  • Bauchi State University, Gadau requires Five O’ level credits in English Language, Mathematics/Arithmetic, Economics/ Social Studies and any two subjects.
  • Tai Solarin University of Education Ijebu Ode (TASUED) requires Five ‘O’ level credits at one sittings or six ‘O’ level credits at two sittings in English Language, Mathematics and any other three subjects in the Social Science or Arts which must include Economics.
  • Niger Delta University Yenagoa (NDU) requires five ‘O’ level credit in English Language, Mathematics, and any three of Principles of Accounts, Commerce/Economics, Insurance, Store Keeping/Management, Word Processing, including any one of the Social Science subjects in not more than two sittings.
  • Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rumuolumeni– Same as in Accounting Education.
  • Lagos State University, Ojo (LASU) accepts any one of Business Methods, Principles of Account, Book Keeping or Commerce.
  • KAWASU requires five credit to include English, Mathematics Plus any 1 of Economics, Commerce, Financial Accounting, Typewriting plus any two other Social Science subjects.
  • University of Lagos (UNILAG) accepts credit in Data Processing/Office Practice, Financial Accounting
