WAEC subject combination (requirements) for Communication Technology

Communication Technology is how many years course and under which faculty?
Depending on your mode of entry, Communication Technology is a three to four years course in Nigeria. According to JAMB, Communication Technology is under Faculty of Agriculture but may be under a different faculty in some universities.
Can a commercial or art student study Communication Technology?
No! Communication Technology is a pure science course and not suitable for commercial or art student. But if you have required subject combination in your O level result, you can go for it if that is the course you desire to study. If you’re still in secondary school, you may find it difficult to change subjects during WAEC registration because your schools may go against it. The alternative way to write the required subjects combination for Communication Technology is through GCE.

What is Direct Entry special consideration (waiver) for Communication Technology
(i) Bauchi State University, Gadau: a) two ‘A’ level passes in any of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Agric. Science. b) ND and HND (Preferably at Upper Credit) in relevant fields into 200 level.
(ii) Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) requires at least two ‘A’ level passes not below Grade C in Mathematics and one of Physics, Chemistry and Economics. It also accepts ND/HND (Upper Credit) in Information Management Technology, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering and Computer Engineering. Candidates must in addition meet UTME O’ level requirements. It does not accept First Degree or NCE.
(iii) American University of Nigeria, Yola (AUN) same as Information System
(iv) Bells University of Technology, Otta accepts (a) Two A’ Level passes in Mathematics and Physics. (b) ND/HND in Computer Engineering or Electrical /Electronics Engineering with at least an Upper Credit from a recognized Polytechnic.
(v) Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola (MAUTY) accepts Diploma with at least Lower Credit in any of the following: Information Technology, Computer Science, NCE with major in Computer or ICT, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Library Science, Management Information System, Information Management Technology (IMT) (ii) IJMB/HSC/GCE ‘A’ level (with at least 8 points) ICT/Computer Studies and any 1 or 2 of the following: Accounting/Book-Keeping, Commerce, Geography, IMT, government, Business Admin./Management, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics.
What is WAEC, NECO, GCE special consideration (waiver) for Communication Technology
(i) Bauchi State University, Gadau five O’ level credit in Mathematics, English Language, Any of Commerce, Economics, Business Method, Home Economics and any two of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Agricultural Science and Health Science.
(ii) Renaissance University, Enugu requires credit in Physics or Chemistry.
(iii) American University of Nigeria, Yola (AUN) same as Information System. (iv) Bells University of Technology, Otta require five SSCE Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other Science subject.
(iv) Bells University of Technology, Otta require five SSCE Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other Science subject.
(v) Federal University of Technology, Minna: (a) For Telecommunication Engineering requires five SSCE Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other Science subject. (b) For Information and Media Technology requires five SSCE Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and two other relevant Science subject.
(vi) Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) requires at least five ‘O’ Level credit in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and one of Biology, Economics and Geography in not more than two sittings.
(vii) Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola (MAUTY) requires credit to include any three (3) from ICT/ Computer Science, Principles of Accounting/ Book-Keeping, Further mathematics, Physics, Geography, Government, Chemistry, Store Management, Office Practice/Insurance, Commence/ Economics, Marketing/Entrepreneurship
What is JAMB UTME special consideration (waiver) for Communication Technology
