What is O level/WAEC subject combination (requirement) for Archaeology?
The subjects needed to study Archaeology in WAEC must contain five (5) credit. This subject combination is also applicable to NECO AND GCE… The O level requirement that is the compulsory WAEC subject combination for Archaeology must include:

  2. And at least one of the following: Science subject, Religious Studies, Geography, Economics and History

What is JAMB UTME subject combination (subject needed) for Archaeology?
You should aim for a score of 180 – 200 and above in JAMB UTME to be on a safe side (Just an advice) because anything short of that may deny you of Admission/Post UTME. Of course, if you have a score below 180, you can consider College of Education or Polytechnic… Please note – JAMB is not the only option for admission. What is Direct Entry Special Consideration (waiver) to study Archaeology?
(i) University of Ibadan (UI) accepts A’ level passes in any two Arts subjects.

(ii) University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) (a) Requires two ‘A’ level passes or at least a merit pass in either ND or HND or NCE plus UTME Entry Requirements (b) Candidates combining Archaeology with Science/ Social Sciences must satisfy the requirements in the respective programmes/Departments.

(iii) Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria accepts (a) Two ‘A’ level papers in Science/Arts/Social Science at IJMB/ NCE. (b) General English/Use of English at NCE satisfies’ O’ level English requirement.

(iv) University of Jos (UNIJOS) accepts NCE (Merit) or ND (Lower credit).

What is WAEC, NECO, GCE Special Consideration (waiver) to study Archaeology?
(i) University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) requires five O’level credit to include English Language and any Science subjects as well as a pass in Mathematics at WASC or GCE O/L or its equivalent.

(ii) University of Ibadan (UI) requires five ‘O’ level subjects at one sittings or 6 ‘O’ level subjects at two sittings to include English Language, History, Lit-In-English, Government, Geography, Religious Studies, Economics, Biology, Hausa/Igbo/Yoruba.

(iii) Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria requires credit to include English Language and any of the following subject, History, Government, Economics, Geography, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics IRK/CRK

(iv) University of Jos (UNIJOS) requires five credit passes to include English Language, History/Government, geography and any Social Science/Arts subjects.

What is JAMB UTME Special Consideration (waiver) to study Archaeology?
(i) Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria requires History or Government and two other subjects from Arts/Social Science or any three Science subjects.

(ii) University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) accepts any three (3) subjects.
