WAEC subject combination (requirements) for Human Nutrition and Dietetics

You’re expected to have at least 5 credits on the required WAEC subject combination needed to study Human Nutrition and Dietetics in Nigeria universities.

The required subject combination must include:

Course description: The Bachelor of Human Nutrition and Dietetics (the terms are used interchangeably) prepares you to work as professional nutritionists and dietitians. Nutrition is the study of the role of food nutrients in the body while Dietetics is concerned with the prevention and treatment of a variety of food-related diseases. Nutritionists and dietitians break down scientific knowledge about food in relation to health and disease, then translate it into practical information to help people change eating habits and improve their health. It covers the core biomedical sciences of physiology with biochemistry and the professional practice of communication and ethics.

Human Nutrition and Dietetics degree course is designed to produce graduates who can effectively deliver quality preventative nutritional practice within a wide range of settings including health education, health promotion and public health.
