If you want to further your education by gaining additional advanced certification after you may have obtained a bachelor’s degree, then you may want to pursue a postgraduate diploma (pgd). This advanced degree is available in a wide range of areas such as science, business, technology, arts and humanities.

A postgraduate diploma is a shorter qualification than a masters degree, although at the same academic level. The biggest difference between a postgraduate diploma and a masters degree is that a postgraduate diploma doesn’t involve having to do a dissertation.

Postgraduate diploma students are usually assessed by exams, assignments, coursework or a combination of these instead of a dissertation. Nevertheless, you should expect the level of work required to be similar to other postgraduate courses.
