No! If you are a Commercial or an Art student, you cannot Pure and Applied Mathematics at the university because it is a pure science course which need a good background on science subjects. What is Direct Entry Special Consideration (waiver) to study Pure and Applied Mathematics
(i) Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso (LAUTECH) accepts OND (upper credit), HND (lower credit), NCE (credit) in relevant fields into 200 level or ‘A’ Level Passes in Mathematics, Physics,, Chemistry or Biology

(ii) Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Uli requires two ‘A’ level passes from Maths, Physics, Econs or Chemistry and accepts NCE Maths (lower credit).

(iii) University of Port-Harcourt (UNIPORT) – No Direct Entry.

(iv) University of Benin (UNIBEN): in addition to UTME requirements, accepts: (a) Merit in own Diploma(Credit) / other recognised University Diploma(Upper credit) in Data Processing, Science Laboratory Technology, Analytical and Industrial Chemistry, Computer Engineering, Mathematics Education. (b)    ND (Upper credit) / HND (Lower credit) in Mathematics / Statistics or Science Laboratory Technology; (c)   NCE (Overall Merit) with credit passes in Mathematics and Physics.

(v) Paul University, Awka – Anambra State accepts passes in Mathematics, Pure and Applied Physics or Chemistry or Biology or Statistics at GCE Advanced or its equivalent.

What is WAEC, NECO or GCE Special Consideration (waiver) to study Pure and Applied Mathematics
(i) University of Port-Harcourt (UNIPORT) requires Biology.

(ii) University of Benin (UNIBEN) accepts Economics as the fifth subject.

What is JAMB UTME Special Consideration (waiver) to study Pure and Applied Mathematics
(i) University of Benin (UNIBEN) accepts Mathematics, Physics and any of Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science.

(ii) University of Port-Harcourt (UNIPORT) requires Mathematics and any two of Physics, Chemistry and Economics and does not accept Geography
