WAEC subject combination (requirement) for Geography and Regional Planning
You’re expected to have at least 5 credits on the required WAEC subject combination needed to study Geography and Regional Planning in Nigeria universities.

This combination of subjects (o level requirement for Geography and Regional Planning) must include

  1. English Language
  2. Geography
  3. Mathematics
  4. A trade subject

JAMB UTME subject combination (subjects needed) for Geography and Regional Planning
Prepare yourself well so you can score above 200 in JAMB UTME to be on a safe side (Just an advice) because anything short of this score may deny you Admission/Post UTME. Of course, if you have a score below 180, you can consider College of Education or Polytechnic

What is Direct Entry Special Consideration (waiver) for Geography and Regional
(i) Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye accepts NCE (merit) and ND in Town Planning Estate Management or related fields (Lower Credit).

(ii) University of Uyo accepts ND/ NCE / HND in relevant plus UTME requirements

(iii) University of Calabar (UNICAL) accepts NCE at credit level which should include Geography and ND in related field of discipline for Direct Entry.

(iv) University of Benin (UNIBEN) also accepts ND (Upper Credit)/HND (Lower Credit) in Town Planning, Estate Management or Environmental Management and Geographic Information System; NCE (overall merit) with credit pass in Geography. Direct Entry candidate must also satisfy UTME requirements.

(v) Delta State University, Abraka (DELSU) and Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba require one other ‘A’ level Social Science subject and accept NCE (credit) in Geography; ND (Upper Credit), HND (Lower Credit) in Town Planning or in related fields.

(vi) Lagos State University, Ojo (LASU) accepts A’ level pass in any one of Economics, Government, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.

(vii) Delta State University, Abraka (DELSU) accepts NCE (credit) in Geography or ND (Upper Credit) in Town Planning, Land Surveying, Environmental Resource Management, Estate Management or other related fields.

(viii) Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba require one other ‘A’ level Social Science subject and accept NCE (credit) in Geography; ND (Upper Credit), HND (Lower Credit) in Town Planning or in related fields

What is WAEC, NECO, GCE, Special Consideration (waiver) for Geography and Regional
(i) University of Calabar (UNICAL) accepts any two of Economics, Government, Agricultural Science, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

(ii) University of Benin (UNIBEN) accepts TC II (overall merit)

(iii) Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye requires credits in English, Mathematics, Geography and any two Social Science subjects

(iv) Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba requires credits in English, Mathematics, Geography and any two Social Science or Science subjects

(v) Delta State University, Abraka (DELSU) accepts Geog, and any other Social Science Subject.

(vi) Ekiti State University requires one of the other two subjects to be a Science or Social Science subject.

What is JAMB UTME Special Consideration Consideration (waiver) for Geography and Regional
(i) Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye – Geography and any two social Science subjects

(ii) Delta State University, Abraka (DELSU) – Geography, Mathematics and one other Social Science subject

(iii) University of Benin (UNIBEN) and Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba accept Geography and any other two subjects.

(iv) University of Calabar (UNICAL) also accepts any two of Science or Agricultural Science subjects.

(vi) Ekiti State University requires credit passes in English Language and any two subjects from Social Sciences or Sciences.

(vii) Lagos State University, Ojo (LASU) also accepts Science subjects.

(viii) Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba requires Geography, Mathematics and one Social Science or science subject.
