CERTIFICATE PROGRAMMES:

Admission requirements to study Film and Theatre Arts in Kenyatta University

  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C- (Minus) at KCSE or equivalent with proven participation in Theatre Arts or Film or Mass Communication. OR
  • Division III in KCE or its equivalent. Proof of prior participation/ experience/involvement in Film or theatre arts will be an added advantage

 
Admission requirements to study Digital Animation in Kenyatta University

  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C- in KCSE or its equivalent. Prospective students with a portfolio of their original work will have an added advantage.

 

DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES:

Admission requirements to study Film and Theatre Arts in Kenyatta University

  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or Division III at KCE or
  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C- (Minus) with a certificate in Information Science or related area from a recognized institution.

 
 

Admission requirements to study Digital Animation in Kenyatta University

  • Applicants must have a mean Grade of C or equivalent. Prospective students with portfolio of their original work will have an added advantage

 
 

Admission requirements to study Communication and Media studies in Kenyatta University

  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C (plain) KCSE or its equivalent, with at least C plain in English/Kiswahili and at least C- (minus) or its equivalent in any of the following subjects; Geography, History and Government OR C- (Minus) at KCSE or equivalent with a certificate of at least Credit Pass in a relevant field of study from recognized institution or certificate in journalism and/or mass communication and proven experience/ interest will be considered.

 

DEGREE PROGRAMMES:

Admission requirements to study Communication and Media Studies in Kenyatta University

  • Applicants must have a KCSE mean Grade of C+ and a minimum of a B (plain) in English or Kiswahili or its equivalent OR
  • Mean grade of C plain at KCSE or its equivalent; KCE Division II or equivalent or EACE Division II or equivalent, with a minimum of B (plain) in English or Kiswahili. These candidates MUST ALSO have a diploma or equivalent in a relevant field from a recognised post-secondary institution. Kenya advanced certificate of Education (KACE) certificate with a minimum of two (2) principal passes and one (1) subsidiary, and a minimum of a credit pass in English or Kiswahili at the KACE level.

 
 

  • Bachelor of Arts in: i) Theatre Arts ii) Film Technology iii) Theatre Arts and Film Studies iv) Bachelor of Education (Arts) – Theatre Arts and Film

Admission requirements

  • Applicants must have a mean Grade of C+ at KCSE or its equivalent. OR
  • Mean grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or equivalent with Diploma in Film or Mass Communication or Theatre Arts. Proven prior participation in creative Arts activities or experience involvement.
