CERTIFICATE PROGRAMMES:

Admission requirements to study Early Childhood Development in Kenyatta University

  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C- (Minus) at KCSE or equivalent OR
  • Applicants must have a mean Grade D+ (Plus) with at least one year of relevant experience in Early Childhood Programme with at least D+ in either English or Kiswahili.

DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES:

Admission requirements to study Early Childhood Care and Education in Kenyatta University

  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C (Plain) at KCSE Or Division III at KCE OR
  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C- (Minus) with either a P1 certificate or an Early Childhood Studies certificate from a recognized Institution OR
  • Applicants must have a mean grade of D+ with a certificate in ECE from a recognized institution. To be terminal for the group with D+

 
 

Admission requirements to study Information Science in Kenyatta University

  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or Division III at KCE or
  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C- (Minus) with a certificate in Information Science or related area from a recognized institution.

Admission requirements to study Records Management and Information Technology in Kenyatta University

  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or Division III at KCE or
  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C-(Minus) with a certificate in Information Science or related area from a recognized institution.

 
 

Admission requirements to study Clinical Child Neuropsychology in Kenyatta University

  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or Div III at KCE or at least (1) one Principal and (1) one Subsidiary in KACE OR
  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C- (Minus) at KCSE or equivalent with P1 certificate and at least two (2) years’ experience.
  • Applicants with at least grade C (plain) or Credit 6 in English, Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics at KCSE and KCE respectively will have an added advantage.

 
 

Admission requirements to study Primary Teacher Education in Kenyatta University

  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or Division III at KCE OR
  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C- (Minus) with a P1 certificate from a recognized Institution.

 
 

Admission requirements to study Special Needs Education in Kenyatta University

  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C (Plain) at KCSE OR KCE certificate with Division III and a P1 teacher Certificate Applicants must have a mean Grade of C- (Minus) at KCSE and a Certificate from Kenyatta University or any other recognized/accredited Institutions.

 

Admission requirements to study Guidance and Counselling in Kenyatta University

  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or equivalent OR
  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C- (Minus) at KCSE or equivalent with a certificate in related field from a recognized institution.

 
 

Admission requirements to study Educational Leadership and Management in Kenyatta University

  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or equivalent OR P1 or S1 or its equivalent with at least two years experience.

DEGREE PROGRAMMES:

  • Bachelor of Education (Arts)
  • Bachelor of Education (Primary Teacher Education)

Admission requirements

  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C+ (plus) at KCSE or equivalent with at least C+ (plus) or equivalent in two subjects of career choice OR
  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or Division III at KCE or equivalent or one (1) Principal and one (1) Subsidiary at KACE and be holders of P1, S1, or Diploma in Education from a recognized Institution with at least two (2) years teaching experience after training. OR
  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C- at KCSE and progressed from certificate to Diploma at Kenyatta University or any other recognized/accredited Institutions

 

Bachelor of Education (Science) 

Admission requirements

  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C+ (plus) at KCSE or equivalent with at least C+ (plus) or equivalent in two subjects of choice and C (plain) or equivalent in Mathematics OR
  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or Div. III at KCE or equivalent with P1 Certificate or Diploma in Science Education or KACE with two (2) principals and one (1) subsidiary with at least two (2) years teaching experience. In addition, applicants must have obtained Grade C (plain) or equivalent in Mathematics at KCSE. OR
  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C- at KCSE and progressed from certificate to Diploma at Kenyatta University or any other recognized/accredited Institutions.

 
 

Bachelor of Education (Special Needs Education)

Specialization areas: i) Hearing Impairment ii) Visual Impairment iii)Physical Disabilities iv) Learning Disabilities v) Emotional and Behavioral Disorders vi) Mental Retardation

Admission requirements

  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C+ (plus) at KCSE or equivalent with at least C+ (plus) in three of the following subjects: English/Kiswahili, Mathematics/Biology and any Arts subjects OR
  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or Division III at KCE or equivalent or one (1) Principal and one (1) Subsidiary at KACE and be holders of P1, S1, or Diploma in Special Education from a recognized Institution with at least two (2) years teaching experience after training. OR
  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C (Plain) at KCSE and a Diploma at Kenyatta University or any other recognized/accredited Institutions. OR
  • Applicants must have a mean Grade of C- (Minus) at KCSE and progressed from Certificate to Diploma at Kenyatta University or any other recognized/accredited Institutions.

 
 

Admission requirements to study Early Childhood Education in Kenyatta University

  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C+ (plus) at KCSE or equivalent OR Applicants must have a mean grade of C (plain) at KCSE or equivalent with ECE Diploma from a recognized institution or P1 certificate and two (2) years relevant experience. OR
  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C plain or equivalent with credit II in an early childhood diploma from Kenyatta University or an equivalent institution OR
  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C- at KCSE and progressed from certificate to Diploma at Kenyatta University or any other recognized/accredited Institutions.

 

  • Bachelor of Education (Library Science)
  • Bachelor of Library and Information Science

Admission requirements

  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C+ (Plus) at KCSE or equivalent OR Applicants must have a mean grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or equivalent with a Diploma in Library Science and/or Information Science or Archives Administration. OR
  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C- at KCSE and progressed from certificate to Diploma at Kenyatta University or any other recognized/accredited Institutions.

 

Admission requirements to study Records Management & Information Technology in Kenyatta University

  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C+ (Plus) at KCSE OR Applicants must have a mean grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or equivalent with a Diploma in Library Science or Records and Archives Management. OR
  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C- at KCSE and progressed from certificate to Diploma at Kenyatta University or any other recognized/accredited Institutions.

 
 

Admission requirements to study Home Economics in Kenyatta University

  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C+ (Plus) at KCSE or equivalent and at least C+ (Plus) or equivalent in Home Science and Chemistry or Physics or Geography or English or Mathematics or any subjects taught in High Schools. OR
  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C- at KCSE and progressed from certificate to Diploma at Kenyatta University or any other recognized/accredited Institutions.

 
 

Admission requirements to study Physical Education in Kenyatta University

  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C+ (Plus) at KCSE or equivalent OR
  • Applicants must have a mean grade C (plain) with a Diploma in Education or related field of study from a recognized institution. OR
  • Applicants must have a mean grade of C- at KCSE and progressed from certificate to Diploma at Kenyatta University or any other recognized/accredited Institutions
