The Complete List of Trade Subjects needed to complete ‘O’ Level Exam registration such as WAEC, NECO and GCE.
It is a must to choose a trade subject along with other 8 secondary school subjects during WAEC, NECO and GCE registration. And let me quickly tell you this…
Yoruba is a compulsory subject you must register in any WAEC, NECO or GCE examination if you are considering any higher institution in Lagos State. Please be guided.
You should choose subjects as required by a university course or polytechnic and college of education. It is important you verify the subject requirements of any course before attempting to register them in WAEC, NECO or GCE. Else, you will be screened out if you ever made it to departmental screening.
Those who wrote WAEC before the introduction of trade subjects are safe. No need to rewrite WAEC if you pass the required subject combination without a trade subject.
Is trade subject compulsory?
Yes. You cannot register for WAEC or NECO without registering a trade subject. It is expected that you learn one trade subject in secondary school. Moreover, trade subjects offer students the opportunity to acquire some entrepreneurship skills. The type of trade made available for learning in schools will depend on equipment and resources available, the need of the community where the school is located as well as the vision of the school.
