No, Creative Writing is not a good major except if you don’t want to work for money. We however advise that you get a degree that gives you marketable skills. A degree in creative writing does not guarantee marketable skills. In other words, having a degree in creative writing will not convince anyone to publish your writing or pay you for writing.

By definition, Creative Writing Major allows students to develop their writing skills through craft classes, literature classes, and writing workshops, in preparation for a variety of postgraduation options, from continuing on to M.F.A. degree programs to various positions in the publishing or editing fields.
