Nigerian Universities offering Diploma Courses

Nigerian diploma is a higher education qualification offered by Polytechnics, Monotechnics, Technical Colleges and some universities in Nigeria. A diploma course is two years of full time/part-time programme. Graduates are at the end of the programme are usually offered an Ordinary National Diploma Certificate (OND).

A Graduate with a diploma certificate can study further by applying for a 200 level direct entry into the university or study another 2 years to upgrade his/her Ordinary National Diploma certificate to a Higher Diploma Certificate (HND). In Nigeria, a graduate with HND is eligible for one year compulsory National Youth Service Corps.
200 level direct entry is subject to diploma CGPA. A low CGPA may result in starting from 100 level at the university.

A diploma program can provide valuable specialized skills, knowledge and experiences. Diplomas help bridge the gap between secondary school and university, or between undergraduate and graduate study. With a diploma certificate, a graduate can find jobs that do not require a professional degree.

On this page, I, Fatherprada will list out Nigerian Universities offering Diploma courses but if you’re looking for diploma courses in the Polytechnics, you should start here.

Students often choose to study Diploma courses in the university because it would be easier to gain direct entry admission into the university where they had their Diploma and this is very true. The transition process is less complicated than having your diploma from another university or polytechnics. Yet, it is better to get your diploma from a Polytechnic because they are better equipped.
