The ultimate list of commercial courses for students in commercial department

Are you a commercial student in secondary school who is still busy with the thoughts of which best commercial course you can study in Nigeria universities? Or perhaps you have left secondary school for a while and now wants to seek admission to study a commercial course (social science subject) in the university. Don’t worry, I was a commercial student those long gone days.

I have compiled 100 lists of commercial courses you can study as a student of the commercial department in Nigeria with access to Admission requirements. That is the subjects you need to have in your O level (WAEC, NECO, GCE) result to study these commercial courses. If you’re a commercial student, you are automatically a social science student and you should study a social science subject except in rare cases where you choose to switch to a different course outside social science.

In case you don’t know, there are two Faculties in the university where commercial courses are taught. They are Faculty of Social Science and Faculty of Administration. Ah! I guess you don’t thatI also want you to know that you can study Art courses if you have a good background in Government, History or Literature – in – English. So never limit yourself.

Besides, your department in secondary school does not determine what you will study in the university. So long you have the right subject combination for the course you wish to study.
It’s a long list with a mixture of social science subjects and administrative subjects strictly for a commercial student.

    • Yes… There are over 40 courses you can study E8 in English… Please use the search box on the site and type….. Courses you can study without English

  1. Please I don’t have economics in waec and I want a course that don’t need economics….am a commercial student…please what course can I go for…

    • So many courses do not require economics. All you need to do is go through the list of commercial courses to see which course don’t need economics

  2. I had f9 in economics as a commercial student which course can I study I intend studying business administration/banking and finance

    • Thanks for the list really helpful but I can see that some of the courses needs art subjects like literature, irs/crs and history which I don’t offer can you point out courses that would best for me based on the subject I offer which are
      Mathematics
      English
      Accounting
      commerce
      Economic
      Government
      Geography
      Civic education
      But please I’m not really good at maths and accounting
