What is O level/WAEC subject combination (requirement) for Industrial Design?
The subjects needed to study Industrial Design in WAEC must contain five (5) credit. This subject combination is also applicable to NECO AND GCE… The O level requirement that is the compulsory WAEC subject combination for Industrial Design must include

  1. English Language
  2. Fine Art
  3. Mathematics If you don’t have credit in Mathematics, Click here fast
  4. Chemistry
  5. Spinning; Weaving; Surface Design and Printing; Bleaching, Dyeing and Finishing; Ceramics; Graphic Design; Graphic Printing; Decorative Painting, Spray Painting, Lining, Sign & Design, Wall Hanging, Colour Mixing/Matching and Glazing, Building/Engineering Drawing, General Wood Work.
  6. A trade subject

 

What is JAMB UTME subject combination (subjects needed) for Industrial Design?
You should aim for a score of 180 – 200 and above in JAMB UTME to be on a safe side (Just an advice) because anything short of that may deny you of Admission/Post UTME. Of course, if you have a score below 180, you can consider College of Education or Polytechnic… Please note – JAMB is not the only option for admission. If you’re having troubles JAMB UTME maybe it’s time you pass through IJBM, JUBEB, ND or Predegree. JAMB UTME subject combination (subject to write in jamb) for Industrial Design are

  1. Chemistry
  2. Mathematics If you don’t have credit in Mathematics, Click here fast

What is Direct Entry requirement (that is the required A-level result you need) to study Industrial Design?
(i) ‘A’ level passes in Two of Fine Arts, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics.
(ii) ND in Industrial Design or Glass Technology or Fine Art at Credit level

What is Direct Entry special consideration (waiver) for Industrial Design?
(i) Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria accepts NCE (Double Major) in Art and ND/HND (credit) in relevant fields.
(ii) Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria accepts a. “A” level / IJMB passes in Chemistry, and any of  Physics and Mathematics (b)  ND in Glass Technology pass at Credit level. from an accredited institution (c) NCE in Chemistry, pass at credit level. d.  HND in Science, Materials Science and Engineering, or in Chemical Engineering at Credit level from an accredited institution.
(iii) Bauchi State University, Gadau accepts ND/HND (upper credit) NCE (Double Major) in Fine Art, A’ Level in Fine and Applied Arts.
(iv) Federal University of Technology, Akure accepts two (2)  ‘A’ level passes in at least two subjects from the following: Mathematics, Chemistry, Geography, Physics, Fine Art, Technical Drawing or Economics
(vi)  Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola (MAUTY) accepts  (a) Two or three GCE `A’ Level passes one of which must be in Fine Art/Technical Drawing   b)  NCE Double Major in  Fine Arts c)  ND/HND with Upper credit in Art Design
(v) Cross River State University of Science &Technology, Calabar (CRUTECH) accepts NCE in Fine Arts or ND in Fine Arts with a minimum credit of 2.5.
What is WAEC, NECO, GCE special consideration (waiver) for Industrial Design?
(i) Federal University of Technology, Akure requires five credit at the West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations (WASSSCE) or NECO or GCE O’Level or its equivalent in NOT more than two sittings in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, and 2 of the following: Economics, Physics, Technical Drawing, Fine Art and Geography. Credit or Pass in Fine Art will be an additional advantage, while a pass grade in Physics will be acceptable.
(ii) Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola (MAUTY) requires Chemistry, Geography, Technical Drawing, Fine Art/Creative Art.
(iii) Bauchi State University, Gadau requires five O’ level credit English Language, Mathematics, any two from Fine Arts, Building Construction, Engineering Drawing and one of Chemistry, Physics, Agricultural Science or Geography.
(iv) Cross River State University of Science &Technology, Calabar (CRUTECH) requires five credit to include English Language, Mathematics and other from Arts or Social Science subjects. Fine Arts will be an added advantage.
(v) Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria requires five “O” level credit in English Language, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and any other subject.
What is JAMB UTME special consideration (waiver) for Industrial Design?
(i) Federal University of Technology, Akure accepts Economics, Biology, Geography, and Technical Drawing.
(ii) Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola (MAUTY) accepts Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Geography.
(iii) River State University of Science and Technology (RSUST) accepts Economics, Physics and Geography in lieu of Chemistry but requires Mathematics and Technical Drawing/Arts.
(iv) Bauchi State University, Gadau accepts Chemistry, Mathematics and one of Fine Arts, Physics, Biology, Agricultural Science or Geography.
(v) Cross River State University of Science &Technology, Calabar (CRUTECH) requires any subjects.
(vi) Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria requires Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics and any other subject.
