WAEC Subject Combination For Communication Studies

In WAEC, NECO or GCE, you are expected to register a maximum of 9 subjects for a Communication Studies degree. You can register for less than 9 subjects if you are resitting.

However, you must have at least 5 credit passes amongst the 9 subjects listed below before you can gain admission into any Nigerian university to study for a Communication Studies degree.

Communication Studies is how many years course?

In Nigeria, if you gain admission to study Communication Studies degree course at the university through JAMB UTME, you will study Communication Studies for four years. Can science or art students study Communication Studies at the university? By default, this course is meant for commercial students only. But the curriculum of this course allows students with art and science backgrounds to study it as long as they have the right O level subject combination for Communication Studies.

Communication studies is a study of how we communicate differently to various audiences/users and communities. It understands that communication is social, political, and media-based, and occurs in different contexts. Communication studies is an interdisciplinary major that consists of a number of interrelated subfields: popular communication, science communication, health communication, political communication (including the study of news and journalism), and philosophy of communication.
