WAEC subject combination (requirements) for Education Arts

The subjects needed to study Education Arts in WAEC must contain five (5) credit. This subject combination is also applicable to NECO AND GCE… The required WAEC subject combination (O level requirement) for Education Arts must include

Education Arts is how many years course and under which faculty?

Depending on your mode of entry, Education Arts is a three to four years course in Nigeria. According to JAMB, this course is under Faculty of Education but may be under a different faculty in some universities.

Special Consideration
The SSCE O level and A-level subject needed to study Education Arts have been listed above but, some Universities may accept D7 or E8 in some a compulsory subject instead of Credit. What is Direct Entry Special Consideration to study Education Arts
(i) University of Ibadan (UI) accepts candidates with English Communication and Language Arts and any of their teaching subjects must pass Litin-English at credit level.
(ii) Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki accepts OND/NCE for 3 year programme. Candidates with merit in all four subjects areas at NCE into 2 year programme.
(iii) University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) accepts: (a) NCE in the subject to be combined with Education with at least Merit pass in the subject. (b) Non-NCE holders: candidates must have a credit level pass in English Language at O’ level or SSCE or its equivalent in addition to higher qualification.

What is WAEC, NECO, GCE Special Consideration to study Education Arts
(i) University of Ibadan (UI) requires 5 ‘O’ level credits at one sittings to include English Language, two Arts subjects and others from Science or Social Sciences.
(ii) University of Port-Harcourt (UNIPORT) requires for English, French and Theatre Arts options Literature in English. For History University of Port-Harcourt (UNIPORT) does not accepts Government in liue of History.
(iii) University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) requires Five O’ level credit to include the subjects to be combined with Education and a credit or its equivalent in English Language at SSCE or its equivalent. *For Ed/English, Credit in English Language and Literature are compulsory *For Ed/History, Government or History is compulsory *For Ed/French – French is compulsory *For Ed/Igbo Linguistics, Igbo is compulsory. Candidates for Education Music, Ed/Creative Art and Education Fine & Applied Arts must not possess Music, Creative Art or Fine & Applied Arts respectively at O’ level, but are qualified with Five Credits at a sittings or six credits at two sittings which must include English Language. Candidates with University Diploma or OND at not less than Merit level in other disciplines who posses the university minimum entry requirements which must include Credit in the subject to be combined at O’ level may be admitted for a four year programme.
(iv) University of Calabar (UNICAL) accepts a pass in Mathematics.

What is JAMB UTME Special Consideration to study Education Arts
(i) University of Port-Harcourt (UNIPORT) and Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki – The subjects of study and two other relevant subjects.
(ii) English Language, the subject to be combined and two other Arts or Social Science subjects. For Ed/Music, Ed/Creative Art and Ed/FAA, English Language and three other Arts subjects.
(iii) University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) requires the subject to be combined and two other Arts or Social Science subject. For Education Music/Education Fine Arts; any three other subjects
