Can a commercial or an art student study Applied Botany?

No! If you are a Commercial or an Art student, you cannot study Applied Botany at the university because it is a pure science course which need a good background in science subjects. (i) Wesley University of Science & Technology, Ondo accepts: (a) At least 2 “A” level passes in Biology and Chemistry or Physics. (b) Upper Credit passes in NCE and ND in addition to 5 Credits at WASC/GCE O’L / SSCE (or its equivalent)
(ii) Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso (LAUTECH) accepts i. Two ‘A’ Level passes in Biology and Chemistry, or Physics (plus UTME requirements) or ND with Upper Credit / HND or NCE with credit grade in related discipline may be considered into 200 level.
(iii) Bells University of Technology, Otta same as in Microbiology.
(iv) Rhema University, Obeama-Asa – Rivers State accepts ND/HND (lower credit) plus UTME requirements.
(v) River State University of Science and Technology (RSUST) accepts holders of the following qualifications for year II:- (a) ND in relevant fields for admissions to 200 level; (b) HND relevant to the field for admissions to 300 level.
(vi) Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki accepts HND, NCE and ND with a minimum of Merit and Upper credit respectively in the relevant fields.
(vii) University of Lagos (UNILAG) accepts very good passes in the following three(3) JUPEB/A-LEVEL subjects: Biology, Chemistry and Physics. (viii) Bauchi State University, Gadau accepts IJMB/A Level/GCE A Level Credit passes in Biology, Chemistry and anyone of the following 3 subjects, Mathematics, Physics or Agricultural Science. National Diploma (ND) Pass with at least Lower Credit in the following areas: Science Lab Technology, Forestry or Agriculture and Food Science Technology. The candidate must also have the 5 O’ Level requirements in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science and Physics or Geography.

What is WAEC, NECO, GCE Special Consideration (waiver) to study Applied Botany
(i) Wesley University of Science & Technology, Ondo requires five credit passes in English, Biology Chemistry, Mathematics and any other science subject.
(ii) Bells University of Technology, Otta same as in Microbiology
(iii) Covenant University Ota, Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki and University of Lagos (UNILAG) require credit passes in English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Biology.
(iv) Bauchi State University, Gadau requires credit passes in five subjects including English Language, Mathematics, to form the core course with 3 other relevant Science Subjects from Chemistry, Biology or Agric Science and Geography.

What is JAMB UTME Special Consideration (waiver) to study Applied Botany
(i) University of Lagos (UNILAG) requires Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
(ii) Bauchi State University, Gadau requires Geography and not Mathematics.
