WAEC subject combination (requirements) for Teacher Education

The subjects needed to study Teacher Education in WAEC must contain five (5) credit. This subject combination is also applicable to NECO AND GCE… The required WAEC subject combination (O level requirement) for Teacher Education  is same as Educational Management.

JAMB UTME subject combination (requirements) for Teacher Education 

Knowing JAMB subjects for Teacher Education is not enough. You should aim for a score of 180 – 200 and above in JAMB UTME to be on a safe side (Just a piece of advice) because anything short of that may deny you of Admission/Post UTME. Of course, if you have a score below 180, you can consider College of Education or Polytechnic… Please note – JAMB is not the only option for admission. If you’re having troubles JAMB UTME maybe it’s time you pass through IJBM, JUBEB, ND, HND or Predegree!..

Teacher Education is how many years course and under which faculty?

Depending on your mode of entry, Teacher Education is a three to four years course in Nigeria. According to JAMB, this course is under Faculty of Education but may be under a different faculty in some universities.

Special Consideration
The SSCE O level and A-level subject needed to study Teacher Education have been listed above but, some Universities may accept D7 or E8 in some a compulsory subject instead of Credit. What is Direct Entry Special Consideration (waiver) to study Teacher Education
(i) As in Educational Management.
(ii) University of Ibadan (UI) requires Literature in English for candidates with English Communication and Language Art.
(iii) St. Augustine College of Education, Lagos State B.ED accepts: (a) Two Á’ level passes in the subject of specialization/ teaching subject and one other relevant subject. (b) NCE merit level passes in the subject of specialization/teaching subject and one other relevant subject.

What is WAEC, NECO, GCE Special Consideration (waiver) to study Teacher Education
(i) St. Augustine College of Education, Lagos State B.ED requires (a) Five SSCE credit to include English Language, CRK and three relevant subject at a sittings or four relevant subjects at two sittings. (b) Credit passes in Mathematics and Economics are required in addition to (a) above, for teaching option in Economics, credit in Government or History and at least a pass in Mathematics is required in addition to (a) above for Science and Social Studies, and credit in Literature in English and two other Arts subjects are required in addition to (a) above for teaching option of English.

What is JAMB UTME Special Consideration (waiver) to study Teacher Education
(i) St. Augustine College of Education, Lagos State B.ED requires relevant subjects to the teaching options are required. Literature in English is required for options in English Language, Mathematics and Economics are required for option of Economics and Government or History is required for option of Political Science or Social Studies
