WAEC subject combination (requirements) for Leisure and Tourism Management

You’re expected to have at least 5 credits on the required WAEC subject combination needed to study Leisure and Tourism Management in Nigeria polytechnics. This subject combination is also applicable to other O’level exams such as NECO AND GCE. The required WAEC subject combination (O level requirement) for Leisure and Tourism Management must include:
English Language, Geography, a Basic Science subject and two other subjects from: Economics/Commerce, History, Book Keeping Principles of Accounting, Mathematics, Fine Arts, French Language, Government, Food and Nutrition, Nigerian Language, Home Economics A credit pass in Mathematics is compulsory

JAMB UTME subject combination (requirements) for Leisure and Tourism Management

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is a body responsible for your admission into the University or other institutions. Now I’m going to show you the compulsory JAMB subjects for Leisure and Tourism Management that you must register (English must be included because it is compulsory even though it may not be listed among the JAMB subjects below), and I will honestly advise you to aim for a score of 150 so that you can easily gain admission into any Polytechnics. Please note– English Language is compulsory. If Mathematics is not listed among the Jamb subject on this post, then Mathematics is not compulsory for this course. JAMB is not the only option to gain admission into Nigerian Universities to study Leisure and Tourism Management. Can a science or art student study Leisure and Tourism Management?

No! If you are a Science or an Art student, you cannot study Leisure and Tourism Management at the polytechnic because it is a pure commercial course which need a good background in commercial subjects. To avoid discouragement, you can go for this course if you wish provided you have the required subjects combination in your O level result. If you’re still in secondary school, you may find it difficult to change subjects to fit your desired course during WAEC registration because some schools may go against it.

Special Consideration

Now I am confident that you know the compulsory subjects needed to study Leisure and Tourism Management in polytechnics. But note this — Some Polytechnics may accept D7 or E8 in some a compulsory subject instead of Credit. And some may accept or reject two sittings. That is combinations of WAEC, NECO, or GCE results. Polytechnic Special Consideration/waiver for Leisure and Tourism Management
a) FEDWILD-NBUS requires credit passes in English Language, Geography/Government, Economics and Mathematics.
b) Yaba College of Technology, Yaba, Lagos State (YABATECH) requires credit in Mathematics, English Language, Geography and two of Economics, History, Commerce, Government, French, Food and Nutrition. It requires as UTME subjects Mathematics, Geography and one of Economics, Biology/Agricultural Science.
c) Port Harcourt Polytechnic same as in Computer Science.
d) Kaduna Polytechnic, Kaduna (KAD-POLY) requires Mathematics, Geography and any one from Biology/Agricultural Science, History, Government or Economics as UTME subjects.
e) Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State requires five credit passes in English Language Mathematics, Geography, Biology/Agricultural Science/Animal Husbandry and any one of the following, History, Economics, Commerce, Government, History, Biology/Agric, Food and Nutrition, Chemistry, Physics orFrench.
f) Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi The minimum entry requirement into the National Diploma in Leisure and Tourism Management is four credit level passes in the O’ Level in not more than two sittings. The subjects must include English Language and Geography, and any two from the following: History and Geography, and any two of History, Economics, Government, Mathematics, Biology, Food and Nutrition and French.
g) Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) requires four credits at one sittings or five credits at not more than two sittings to include English Language and Geography with Mathematics with at least a pass in Mathematics
U.T.M.E. SUBJECTS
j) Kaduna Polytechnic, Kaduna (KAD-POLY) accepts any three of Mathematics, Geography, Economics/Commerce, Government, History or Biology/Agricultural Science.
k) Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State accepts Geography and Economics.
