WAEC subject combination (requirements) for Industrial Mathematics

Can a commercial or an art student study Industrial Mathematics?
No! If you are a Commercial or an Art student, you cannot study Industrial Mathematics at the university because it is a pure science course which need a good background in science subjects. To avoid discouragement, you can go for this course if you wish provided you have the required subjects combination in your O level result. If you’re still in secondary school, you may find it difficult to change subjects to fit your desired course during WAEC registration because some schools may go against it.
Also, during WAEC or NECO registration make sure you know which subjects are been registered for you because some secondary schools are ignorant about the importance of O level requirements for university courses. Another alternative way to register the required subject combinations for Industrial Mathematics is through GCE.

(i) Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki accepts ‘A’ level passes in Mathematics and any one of Biology/Health Science, Chemistry, Economics, Physics, Statistics and Agricultural Science. It also accepts HND, NCE and ND with a minimum of Merit and Upper credit respectively in the relevant fields.
(ii) Delta State University, Abraka (DELSU) accepts A/L and NCE (merit pass) in Maths plus any Social Science subject.
(iii) Federal University of Technology, Akure accepts (a) Two ‘A’ Level passes in Science subjects including Mathematics and Physics (b) National Diploma in Computer Science with at least an Upper Credit. (c) NCE in Computer Science/Maths, Computer Science/Physics, Maths/Physics with at least Credit Pass in both
(iv) University of Benin (UNIBEN) – Same as in Mathematics.
(v) Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba requires A’ level passes in both Maths and Physics and also accepts ND in Computer Science, Statistics or any other related courses at lower credit level.
(vi) Wesley University of Science & Technology, Ondo same as in Mathematics.
(xii) Bells University of Technology, Otta same as in Industrial Mathematics
(viii) Western Delta University, Oghara Delta State accepts (a) Two ‘A’ Level passes to include Mathematics, Physics, Economics or Chemistry. (b) NCE/ND with minimum of merit in relevant subjects.
(ix) Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Enugu (ESUT) requires two ‘A’ Level passes to include Mathematics. It accepts National Diploma in Science courses.
What is WAEC, NECO, GCE Special Consideration (waiver) for Industrial Mathematics
(i) Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Enugu (ESUT) requires English Language, Mathematics and three credit passes out of Physics, Statistics, Economics, Biology, Chemistry, Further Mathematics and Agricultural Science.
(ii) Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki accepts two other credit passes from Biology, Economics, Physics and Statistics.
(iii) University of Benin (UNIBEN) accepts Credit passes in English language, Mathematics and any three of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Agric. Science or Industrial Mathematics.
(iv) Delta State University, Abraka (DELSU) accepts English Language, Mathematics and any of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Further Mathematics, Economics and Industrial Mathematics.
(v) Imo State University, Owerri (IMSU) requires a credit pass in Chemistry and accepts a pass in English Language.
(vi) Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba requires at least a pass in Chemistry.
(vii) Federal University of Technology, Akure requires credit in Chemistry. (viii) Western Delta University, Oghara Delta State requires five SSCE credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics, Industrial Mathematics, any two Science subjects
What is JAMB UTME Special Consideration (waiver) for Industrial Mathematics
(i) Federal University of Technology, Akure and Bells University of Technology, Otta accept Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry only.
(ii) University of Benin (UNIBEN) requires Mathematics, Physics and any of Biology, Chemistry, Agricultural Science and Economics.
(iii) Western Delta University, Oghara Delta State requires Mathematics and any two of Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Biology and Agricultural Science.
(vi) Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki accepts Statistics but does not accept Agricultural Science.
(vii) Cross River State University of Science &Technology, Calabar (CRUTECH) requires for Biochemistry Chemistry, Biology and either Physics or Mathematics.
