WAEC subject combination (requirements) for Education and Physics

The subjects needed to study Education and Physics in WAEC must contain five (5) credit. This subject combination is also applicable to NECO AND GCE… The required WAEC subject combination (O level requirement) for Education and Physics must include

  1. English Language
  2. Physics
  3. Mathematics
  4. Two other Science subjects or NTC/NBC
  5. A Trade Subject


JAMB UTME subject combination (requirements) for Education and Physics 

Knowing JAMB subjects for Education and Physics is not enough. You should aim for a score of 180 – 200 and above in JAMB UTME to be on a safe side (Just a piece of advice) because anything short of that may deny you of Admission/Post UTME. Of course, if you have a score below 180, you can consider College of Education or Polytechnic… Please note – JAMB is not the only option for admission. If you’re having troubles JAMB UTME maybe it’s time you pass through IJBM, JUBEB, ND, HND or Predegree!..

These are JAMB UTME subject combinations (subjects to write in jamb) to study Education and Physics

  3. Plus one other subject.

Direct Entry requirement (required A-level result) to study Education and Physics
(i) Two ‘A’ level passes in Physics and Mathematics.
(ii) NCE with credit/merit in relevant subjects

Education and Physics is how many years course and under which faculty?

Depending on your mode of entry, Education and Physics is a three to four years course in Nigeria. According to JAMB, this course is under Faculty of Education but may be under a different faculty in some universities.

Special Consideration
The SSCE O level and A-level subject needed to study Education and Physics have been listed above but, some Universities may accept D7 or E8 in some a compulsory subject instead of Credit. And some may accept or reject two sittings. That is combinations of WAEC, NECO, or GCE results. You will know more when you take a look at the special consideration (waiver) for this course

What is Direct Entry Special Consideration (waiver) to study Education and Physics
(i) University of Abuja, Gwagwalada accepts Diploma in relevant fields.
(ii) University of Lagos (UNILAG) accepts NCE with credit/merit in Physics and one of Biology, Mathematics, Geography and Chemistry. It also accepts University of Lagos (UNILAG) Foundation Diploma plus UTME requirements. It does not accept Geography.
(iii) River State University of Science and Technology (RSUST) requires any Science subject as the 3rd subject..
(iv) University of Calabar (UNICAL) – accepts ND from recognised institutions.
(iv) Federal University of Technology, Minna accepts NCE (merit), OND/HND (lower credit) in addition to four relevant UTME subjects into 200 and 300 levels respectively.
(vi) University of Uyo accepts candidates without A/Level or NCE Mathematics but must take remedial in the subject in year I. (viii) Federal University of Technology, Minna requires Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry.
(ix) Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (OAU) accepts two ‘A’ level credit in Physics and any other Science subject or NCE with credit/merit passes in relevant teaching subjects’ combinations including Physics. Candidates holding NCE in Auto-mechanic are also eligible
(x) Lagos State University, Ojo (LASU) accepts NCE (Tech) with merit pass in relevant field.
(xi) University of Jos (UNIJOS) accepts NCE General English, Diploma in Physics/Integrated Science.
(xii) Imo State University, Owerri (IMSU) requires NCE (merit) into 2 year and less than merit into 3 year programme. In addition at least a pass in English Language is required.
(xiii) Benue State University, Makurdi accepts NCE at merit level.
(xiv)Bayero University, Kano (BUK) accepts NCE (merit) in PHE with any two Science subjects.
(xv) Ekiti State University accepts General English at NCE in lieu of ‘O’ level credit in English language.
(xvi) University of Benin (UNIBEN) accepts 2/3 merit passes in NCE including Physics plus 3 O/L credit in Physics, Mathematics and English Language at one sittings
(xvii) Bauchi State University, Gadau accepts NCE (pass with at least 5 years teaching experience).
(xviii) Umar Musa Yar’ Adua University Katsina (UMYU) requires A/Level pass in Physics and Mathematics. Accepts a minimum of credit or merit in NCE or Upper credit Diploma.
(xxi) Nasarawa State University Keffi (NSUK) accepts Diploma in Science Education from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria or any other recognised institution
(xxiii) Bowen University, Iwo accepts ‘A’/IJMB/NCE/OND or approved equivalent in Mathematics and Physics
(xxiv) Tai Solarin University of Education Ijebu Ode (TASUED) accepts Two ‘A’ level passes in Physics and Mathematics, NCE with at least merit pass and in related subject with Upper Credit.
(xxv) Osun State University Osogbo (UNIOSUN) admits candidates with acceptable pass in its own Foundation Programme in addition to UTME requirement.
(xxvi) University of Agriculture, Makurdi requires: a) Two A’ level passes in Physics and Biology, Further Mathematics, Technical Drawing or Geology. b) accepts ND (Upper Credit) in Relevant fields in addition to UTME requirement

What is WAEC, NECO, GCE Special Consideration (waiver) to study Education and Physics
(i) Delta State University, Abraka (DELSU) and Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola (MAUTY) accept a pass in English Language or a pass in TC II or NCE General English.
(ii) University of Benin (UNIBEN) requires 2 other Science subjects, one of which should be Chemistry/Agricultural Science/Biology/Further Mathematics..
(iii) Gombe State University, Gombe accepts a minimum of P.7 in English Language.
(iv) Bowen University, Iwo and IMS require a credit in Chemistry and Mathematics/Further Mathematics.
(v) University of Jos (UNIJOS) does not accept Integrated Science.
(vi) Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria accepts TC II (Merit).
(vii) University of Uyo requires a Credit pass in Chemistry and may accept a P.7 in English Language.
(viii) Gombe State University, Gombe requires credit in Chemistry.
(ix) Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rumuolumeni and Umar Musa Yar’ Adua University Katsina (UMYU) require five O/Level credits passes which must include Physics, Mathematics, English Language and any other two subjects preferably Chemistry, Further Mathematics, Geography/Physics and Biology.
(x) Lagos State University, Ojo (LASU) accepts WAEC/NECO/SSCE credit in English Language and Mathematics.
(xi) Tai Solarin University of Education Ijebu Ode (TASUED) requires Five ‘O’ level credits at one sittings or six ‘O’ level credits at two sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any other 2/3 Sciencent and any three subjects.subjects.
(xii) Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (OAU) requires five ‘O’ level credits which must include English Language, Physics, Mathematics and two other subjects, one of which should be Chemistry or Agric. Science or Biology or Additional/Further Mathematics
(xiii) Osun State University Osogbo (UNIOSUN) requires credit in two other relevant science subjects, Geography inclusive.
(xiv) Kogi State University Anyigba requires two other subjects from Biology, Chemistry, Agric. Science, Economics and other subjects.
(xv) University of Lagos (UNILAG) requires five O’level Credits in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and one other Science subject of Biology and Agric. Science.

What is JAMB UTME Special Consideration (waiver) to study Education and Physics
(i) Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (OAU), University of Lagos (UNILAG) and University of Benin (UNIBEN) require Physics, Mathematics and any other Science subject.
(ii) Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rumuolumeni accepts another subject from one of Chemistry, Geography or Biology.
(iii) EDASAB and University of Benin (UNIBEN) require Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry or Biology.
(iv) University of Agriculture, Makurdi requires Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.
(v) University of Lagos (UNILAG) requires one other Science subject of Biology and Agric. Science
