WAEC subject combination (requirements) for Estate Management

The subjects needed to study Estate Management in WAEC must contain five (5) credit. This subject combination is also applicable to NECO AND GCE… The O level requirement, that is, the required WAEC subject combination for Estate Management must include:

  2. Mathematics
  3. English Language
  4. A trade subject

 

Estate management is quite a broad term for a number of areas that include property management, surveying, business and finance and the built environment and essentially the subject is primarily concerned with the valuation and management of land and buildings in the public and private sector. That been said, this programme provides students with a rigorous understanding of the principles and practices involved in commercial property management, valuation, and planning and development surveying up to Bachelor’s degree standard.

Estate Management concerns the appraisal, acquisition, development, marketing and disposal of property, or sometimes the ongoing management of a property. Estate Management includes a wide category of commercial property such as offices, hotels, and retail development, or it can encompass residential property. The course is primarily designed for students who want to go into property profession, either in a private firm or government organization.

A career in Estate Management offers diverse challenges for those interested in creative management and development of a property. For example, property development is a multi-stage process involving risk and it tends to attract those who have the entrepreneurial flair and are able to spot opportunities. Estate Managers thrive on challenges and can cope creatively with setbacks when they arise. Patience is also a virtue in the profile of an Estate Management Surveyor, as it may take many years for an estate strategy to take shape.

 

JAMB UTME subject combination (requirements) for Estate Management

Knowing JAMB subjects for Estate Management is not enough. You should aim for a score of 180 – 200 and above in JAMB UTME to be on a safe side (Just a piece of advice) because anything short of that may deny you of Admission/Post UTME. Of course, if you have a score below 180, you can consider College of Education or Polytechnic… Please note – JAMB is not the only option for admission. Cut-off Mark for Estate Management course

Estate Management is how many years course and under which faculty?

Depending on your mode of entry, Estate Management is a three to four years course in Nigeria. According to JAMB, Estate Management is under Faculty of Agriculture but may be under a different faculty in some universities.

 

Can a commercial or art student study Estate Management?

No! Estate Management is a pure science course and not suitable for commercial or art student. But if you have required subject combination in your O level result, you can go for it if that is the course you desire to study. If you’re still in secondary school, you may find it difficult to change subjects during WAEC registration because your schools may go against it. The alternative way to write the required subjects combination for Estate Management is through GCE.

(i) Bauchi State University, Gadau (for Estate Management) accepts Lower Credit in National Diploma (ND) in Estate Management from a recognized polytechnic. The candidate must also have the 5 O’ Level requirements in English Language, Mathematics, two science subjects and a credit in Economics or Geography.

(ii) Bauchi State University, Gadau (for Estate Management): a) Two ‘A’ level passes in English Language or Mathematics and Chemistry/Biology Geography/Biology or Agric Science. b) ND/HND (upper credit) in the Sciences or any relevant fields.

(iii) Federal University of Technology, Minna accepts ND/HND lower credit in relevant course into 200 and 300 level respectively in addition to UTME requirement. Requires A’ level credit in Mathematics and Economics or Geography plus five O’ level credit in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any of Further Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Technical Drawing.

(iv) Federal University of Technology, Akure accepts ND in Estate Management or any field relevant to Environmental Planning, Design and Management with at least Upper Credit, plus ‘O’ level requirements or any other equivalent qualification or Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Economics and at least, any one of Mathematics, Geography, Biology or Chemistry; in addition to the ‘O’ level requirements.

(v) Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (OAU) requires ‘A’ level passes to include Mathematics, Economics, and any other from Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Fine Arts, Tech. Drawing, Building and Surveying.

(vi) Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Enugu (ESUT) accepts ND/HND in Estate Management.

(vi) River State University of Science and Technology (RSUST) accepts ND/HND (upper credit) in related field into 200/300 levels respectively plus UTME requirements. Candidates who possess an ND (lower credit or a pass with cognate experience) may be considered into 200 level.

(vii) Imo State University, Owerri (IMSU) – accepts HND in Estate Management.

(viii) University of Uyo accepts ND (Upper credit) and HND (Lower credit) in relevant fields.

(ix) Crescent University (CUAB) accepts (i) HSC/GCE ‘A’ Level, IJMB in relevant subjects and at acceptable grades. (ii) ND or HND in Estate Management or Allied professions or professional certificate may be assessed and placed appropriately.

(x) University of Uyo accepts ND/HND in relevant fields plus UTME requirement.

(xi) Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ikeji-Arakeji accepts two ‘A’ level passes in Mathematics, Economics, Geography, Biology and Chemistry. ND in Estate Management or field relevant to Environmental Planning, Design and Management with at least Upper credit.

(xii) Osun State University Osogbo (UNIOSUN) accepts Two good passes at ‘A’ level in Mathematics, Economics, Geography and Chemistry; ND/HND in Estate Management and/or fields relevant to environmental planning, design and management with at least upper credit score.

(xiii) Bells University of Technology, Otta accepts (a) Two A’ Level passes from Mathematics, Economics, Geography/Physics/ Chemistry. (b) ND/HND (Upper Credit) Estate Management.
(xiv) Caritas University, Enugu – No Direct Entry.

(xv) University of Jos (UNIJOS) accepts: a) Holders of IJMB, Higher School Certificate (HSC) or General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level in two relevant subjects or National Diploma (ND) with at least credit level passes in Estate Management or very closely related disciplines or Professional Certificate who applied through JAMB could be admitted into Year II of the programme, provided that they satisfy the relevant ‘O’ level credits requirement specified above. b) Holders of degrees in related disciplines or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Estate Management may also be considered for Direct Entry admission, provided they satisfy the ‘O’ level credits requirement.

(xvi) University of Lagos (UNILAG) accepts; (a) Very good passes in JUPEB/A-LEVEL subjects: Mathematics, Economics and any one of Physics, Chemistry, or Geography. (b) ND/HND (Distinction) requirement in relevant fields into 200 level. (c) Candidates must satisfy O/Level requirements.

(xvii) Oduduwa University, Ipetumodu – Osun State accepts ND/HND Upper credit in relevant fields.

(xviii) University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) (for Estate Management) accepts Holders of HND in Estate Management with Lower Credit may be considered for admission into 200 level provided the candidate has at least lower credit in ND Estate Management. In addition to O level requirements for Estate Management.

What is WAEC, NECO, GCE special consideration (waiver) for Estate Management
(i) Federal University of Technology, Akure requires five credits in WASSCE or NECO or GCE (O/ L) or equivalent at NOT more than two sittings. The credits should be in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and two others from Geography, Chemistry, Agricultural Science / Biology, Commerce, Government, Fine Arts and Technical Drawing. Candidate is expected to have at least a pass in Physics.

(ii) Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (OAU) and Abia State University, Uturu accept Economics and any one of Geography, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.

(iii) Imo State University, Owerri (IMSU) requires five credit in English Language, Mathematics, Economics or Geography and one other from Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Government and Technical Drawing.

(iv) Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka (UNIZIK) requires credit in Economics.

(v) University of Lagos (UNILAG) requires five SSCE credit including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two of Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing/Fine Arts and Financial Accounting.

(vi) Federal University of Technology, Minna requires O/L credit including English Language, Mathematics, Economics, Chemistry or Physics and any one (1) of Biology, Geography and Accounting.

(vii) River State University of Science and Technology (RSUST) requires five ‘O’ level credit in English Language and Mathematics and any two (2) subjects from Geography, Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics (Additional Mathematics), Fine Arts, Chemistry.

(viii) Bauchi State University, Gadau requires for Estate Management five ‘O’ level credit in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics or Geography.

(x) Bauchi State University, Gadau requires for Estate Management 5 O’ Level credits in English Language, Mathematics, plus 2 Science Subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Agric Science and a Credit in either Economics or Geography.

(xi) University of Uyo does not require a credit in Chemistry for Estate Management. Require Credit pass in Economics.

(xii) Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Uli requires at least a pass in English Language.

(xiii) Cross River State University of Science &Technology, Calabar (CRUTECH) requires Geography and Economics

(xiv) Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Enugu (ESUT) requires five credit in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any from Physics, Surveying, Building Construction, Geography, Biology, Technical Drawing and Fine Arts

(xv) Crescent University (CUAB) requires five O’ level credit in English Language, Mathematics, Geography and any two of Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Government, Biology, Social Studies and Technical Drawing.

(xvi) Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ikeji-Arakeji requires five credit English Language, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and any one of the following Geography, Fine Art, Woodwork, Technical Drawing, Biology or Economics plus ND at Upper Credit level.

(xvii) Covenant University Ota requires credit to include Economics, one Science subjects and one of Geography or Technical Drawing

(xviii) Osun State University Osogbo (UNIOSUN) requires Five ‘O’ Level credits in SSCE including Mathematics, English, Chemistry, Physics & Geography.

(xix) University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) requires Credit level pass in 5 subjects in not more than two sittings in Mathematics, English Language, Economics and any other two subjects of which, one must be a science subject.

(xx) Renaissance University, Enugu requires five SSCE credit in English Language, Mathematics, Geography, Economics and Biology at not more than two sittings.

(xxi) Bells University of Technology, Otta requires Five SSCE Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and any two from Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, and Technical Drawing.

(xxii) Abia State University, Uturu requires five SSCE credit in English Language Mathematics, Economics and any other two subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography and Technical Drawing.

(xxiii) Crescent University (CUAB) requires five credits in SSCE/GCE/NECO including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two subjects from Chemistry, Physics, Business Studies/Commerce, Geography, Biology, Agricultural Science and Technical Drawing.

(xxiv) Auchi Poly degree requires Credit level pass in 5 subjects in not more than two sittings to include Mathematics, English Language, Economics and any other two subjects.

(xxv) University of Jos (UNIJOS) requires five credit to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science, Geography, Book-Keeping or Financial Accounting, Fine Arts, Technical Drawing, Surveying and Building Construction.

What is JAMB UTME special consideration (waiver) for Estate Management
(i) Abia State University, Uturu requires Mathematics, Economics and one other subject from Chemistry, Geography, Agric Science and Biology.

(ii) Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (OAU) accepts any three of the following subjects: Mathematics, Economics, Geography, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.

(iii) University of Lagos (UNILAG) one (1) of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography and Principles of Accounting as the fourth subject.

(iv) Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Uli requires Biology, Chemistry.

(v) Bauchi State University, Gadau accepts for Estate Management Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry.

(vi) Bauchi State University, Gadau accepts for Estate Management Mathematics, One Science subject and either Geography or Economics
