WAEC subject combination (requirements) for Electrical / Electronics Engineering

The subjects needed to study Electrical / Electronics Engineering in WAEC must contain five (5) credit. This subject combination is also applicable to NECO AND GCE… The O level requirement, that is, the required WAEC subject combination for Electrical / Electronics Engineering must include

Electrical & Electronics Engineering (Elect Elect), deals with the engineering problems, opportunities and needs of electrical, electronics, computer, telecommunication systems and related industries. This branch provides students with a wide range of fundamental knowledge in core disciplines such as communications, control systems, signal processing, radio frequency design, microprocessors, microelectronics, power generation and electrical machines.

The discipline focuses on design and manufacture of electrical, electronic devised, computers and their component parts, as well as on the integration of components into complex systems.

What do electrical engineers and technologists do and how Electrical and electronic engineers are the professionals that deal with the study and application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism. They work on the development of new and advanced products that are powered by electricity or produce electricity.

JAMB UTME subject combination (requirements) for Electrical / Electronics Engineering

No! Electrical / Electronics Engineering is a pure science course and not suitable for commercial or art student. (x) Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Uli accepts ND/HND/lower credit in Electrical /Electronics Engineering.

(xi) Ekiti State University accepts candidates with ND in Electrical Engineering (Upper credit) and HND (Lower credit) in Electrical Engineering.

(xii) Federal University of Technology, Akure accepts ND (Upper Credit) or equivalent professional qualification in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or related discipline or )  Good passes at the Advanced Level of General Certificate of Education or its equivalent in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics..

(xiii)   Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Enugu (ESUT) and Bauchi State University, Gadau accept ND and HND in relevant field with UTME requirements.

(xiv)  University of Benin (UNIBEN) and University of Lagos (UNILAG) – Same as in Chemical Engineering.

(xv) Niger Delta University Yenagoa (NDU), University of Agriculture, Makurdi and Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) – Same as in Agricultural Engineering.

(xvii) Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso (LAUTECH) accepts: (a) GCE ‘A’ Level Passes in Pure Mathematics, Physics, Applied Mathematics or Chemistry.   (b)  ND with Upper Credit/ HND in Computer Science, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (plus UTME requirements)  may be considered for admission into 200 level.

(xviii) Federal University of Technology, Akure accepts ND at Upper Credit level or other  equivalent professional qualification in the relevant discipline   or Good passes at the Advanced Level of General Certificate of Education or its equivalent in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.

(xix) Osun State University Osogbo (UNIOSUN) accepts ND (lower credit) in Electrical/Electronics.

(xx) Bells University of Technology, Otta same as in Computer Engineering.

(xxi) University of Ibadan (UI) – As in Agric & Environmental Engineering.

(xxii) University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) requires ‘A’ level passes in Physic, Mathematics and Chemistry. Accepts ND/HND upper credit in relevant subjects, plus one year post ND/HND experience.

(xxii)  Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State – Same as in Mechanical Engineering.

(xxiii) Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) accepts GCE `A’ Level credit in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or equivalent. It accepts ND (Upper Credit) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or relevant disciplines.

(xxiv) Nigerian Defence Academy Kaduna (NDA) requires the other Science subject from Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics, Biology and Geography.

(xxv) University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) – Same as in Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering.

(xxvi) University of Jos (UNIJOS) requires ‘A’ level or IJMB passes in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. It also accepts ND (credit level) in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or a closely related discipline from a recognised institution may be considered provided the candidate has credit in Mathematics at O’ level.

(xxvii) Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) requires at least two ‘A’ Level passes not below Grade C in Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry.  It also accepts ND/HND (Upper Credit) in Engineering.  Candidates must in addition meet UTME ‘O’ Level requirements. It does not accept First Degree or NCE

(i) Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Uli and Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Enugu (ESUT) accept a pass in English Language.

(ii) University of Uyo – As in Computer Engineering

(iii) Niger Delta University Yenagoa (NDU) requires five ‘O’ level credit in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other subject in not more than two sittings.

(iv) Ondo State University of Science and Technology Okitipupa (OSUSTECH) and University of Lagos (UNILAG) require credit in Further Mathematics.

(v) University of Ibadan (UI) and University of Agriculture, Makurdi – Same as Agric. & Environmental Engineering.

(vi) COVENAT requires O/L five credit in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and either of Further Mathematics, Biology or Technical Drawing.

(vii) Nile University of Nigeria, Abuja accepts English Language, Mathematics and either Physics or Chemistry and any other two Science subjects.

(viii) Federal University of Technology, Akure requires at least five credit in subjects which include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry at NOT more than two (2) sittings..

(xi) Bells University of Technology, Otta same as in Computer Engineering.
